Do you still have some questions?

The background and reason for choosing our guided path to a new job in IT is different for every newcomer. View the most frequently asked questions here.

It is fantastic that you already have the necessary skills. You may also have the necessary certificates or even have completed an IT-related education in your country of origin. You will probably recognize that finding a job is not that easy as a status holder. Employers are concerned about your language gap, your motivation, your understanding of Dutch business culture. That is exactly what we are going to solve for you. If you are selected by us, you will end up in an intensive guidance program, in which we will help you to solve obstacles and to cash in on that chance of an IT job.

At Motopp, we don’t look at where you come from, but at what you want to reach and which affinity you have with IT. Substantiate in your motivation letter why we should invest in you. If you are selected for an IT Career training, we use assessments to test whether you have the right foundation to continue in the program. If there is no match, you may have to work on additional skills on your own first. There are numerous online courses available, with which you can demonstrate that you have mastered various basic skills.

For you as a status holder or newcomer, absolutely nothing. We pay for your training and reimburse your travel expenses. Some of the time, you follow the training ‘remote’, from your own home workplace. The traineeships are partly given online (remote), with (at least) 2 days a week a day at our office in Amsterdam with various workshops, or joint study time at the office. When we have matched you with an employer after the training course, you can of course start doing paid work.

This can vary depending on the complexity of what is being trained. You should take into account an average duration of 3 to 6 months. In this we pay attention to interpersonal skills, such as presentation techniques, collaboration (agile/scrum), language skills and cultural integration and there are intensive workshops to learn technical skills. After this you will start working for a client, this is for a period of 12 months, after which the most successful Motoppers (96%) move on to a permanent position.

This largely depends on you. We ask maximum effort from you. But you will also get a lot in return. As soon as you have successfully completed your training, and we have selected you to be matched with a client, it is almost certain that you can get started. If there is still no match (which does not happen often), we will do our utmost to find another employer for you.

Once you have been matched for work, you will receive an employment contract and will be employed by Motopp. From Motopp, you will be seconded to your permanent client. This is usually for a period of 12 months. It ensures that you receive a basic salary, can leave your benefits situation, build up a pension, are insured for illness and are entitled to the regular employment safety net in the Netherlands. After 12 months, 96% of all our Motoppers are offered an extension by their client. We guide the transition, to ensure that you end up in a good work situation.

The training program requires that you are available full-time. If you are selected, we will inform you at least one month before the training starts. If you are struggling with caring for children or sick parents, discuss the options at home and do not hesitate to consult us about possible solutions. It will be intensive, but do not forget that it also offers you a great opportunity. If it doesn’t work out for now, but you know you’ll be available in a while, let us know that you are interested or come back here again later on.

It can happen at times, outside of your sphere of influence. If you are in a training program with us, we feel involved with you. Share it with us and we will try to think along with you about a solution. Of course, we have no influence on all situations, but thinking about it together can sometimes still lead to a solution. Even if that means that the program is put ‘on hold’ for a while.
